    Watercolor Works on Paper
  • I made this series of watercolor paintings on paper two weeks before Christmas of last year. I was running out of ideas of what to give as gifts for four girlfriends, since I didnt want to give store bought stuff; I wanted to give something out of the ordinary.
    I haven't touched watercolor palettes for 10+ years; I used to hate the way the paint dried so quickly. I was pleasantly surprised that I learned to handle watercolors quite quickly after a long time of not using them.
    I used Prang watercolor (the brand that schoolkids use) and my usual acrylic brushes. I find that acrylic brushes hold up rather nicely compared to watercolor brushes; an acrylic brush has a nice spring to it which makes for lovely results.
